We visited with 4 families, 3 of which had children. This was great for holding all of us, plenty of room and amenities. The house itself is old and well used, but that is reflected in the great price, and is only the house. The beds and bathrooms were wonderful and modern. New and high quality mattresses, down comforters, Jacuzzi tubs, plentiful towels. The location is excellent. It is set back off the road enough for you to be comfortable letting the kids play, but it is only 15 minutes to Manchester and 5 minutes to the nearest shopping. For us this was ideal; private, but convenient. Overall, this is was loved by everyone in the party. We all agreed this is where we will go next time we are in town. Thanks Daniel for the great experience.
Daniel I'd love to have you back. It was my pleasure. Stop in next Fall or checkout the Siesta Properties this winter:)
We enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas at this classic Vermont gem, with beautiful views and convenient location. The large house is warm, welcoming, and beautifully decorated with antiques. The spacious bedroom suites are gorgeous with fireplaces and ensuite jacuzzi bathrooms. Daniel responded immediately to our every request, and he recommended terrific restaurants, shopping, and skiing nearby. We will definitely return to this lovely family home. We also look forward to staying at Daniel's Florida properties.
Our families enjoyed our four night stay at Blue Door Farm very much. The house is designed to accomodate a large group since all of the bedrooms have an en suite bathrooms. This was key with 6 children of varying ages and 4 adults. We also brought our pets which was wonderful. They had a great time frolicking in the snow! The house was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not working. The owner apologized and gave us an additional bedroom, but the kids were still disappointed.
Love the location of this lodge. We stayed in August and we had hiking trails all around us. Very well maintained lodge with pleasing decorations and furniture. We couldn't get over the Jacuzzi tubs in every bathroom! We are excited to come back in the winter for skiing, then relaxing in the tubs. Daniel was a delight to work with, treated us like longtime friends rather than renters. Would and will stay here again!
I labored over the internet to find a nice place to host a family reunion at a competitive rate. The house was clean, huge and beautiful. Thoughtfully furnished with all I needed, and located right between towns and everything we like to do. I'm really pleased to say this property exceeded my expectations and makes me believer in owners who aren't trying to just make a buck. Renting from Dan was a pleasant experience from the first time I called him to inquire about the place. I had such a nice stay, I will definitely be back and renting from him. Cant wait! Highly recommend this owner/property.
We were pleasantly surprised at this HomeAway from home. From the gorgeous views, walking trails, an easily accessed amenities, restaurants, shopping, ski resorts, to the beautiful home itself. The rooms are all cozy an extrude warmth an relaxation. I absolutely loved all the different rooms, each with a fireplace, but unique in their own way, that you felt after a long day, you could just curl up in front of the fireplace with a good book. Or you go down to the tastefully decorated large family room with fireplace, or up 2 the sunroom an enjoy the gorgeous views. I The jacuzzis in most all of the bathrooms are a real treat. So treat yourself to The Blue Door in Peru, Vermont, you won't be disappointed!!! April M Purpora
We found this place after having rented from DAn in the past (in Florida) and it is LOVELY. WE took five bedrooms for our large family vacation and had so much fun. Each room was decorated with such attention and all had en-suite baths, which came in handy with the kids. We frequented nearby restaurants, horse-back riding, farms, outlet shopping, etc. This area (Landgrove/Manchester) is known for skiing and riding, but we were not prepared for the AMAZING farm to table eateries and wine, not to mention the picturesque scenery all around. This house is set back on a little hill with everything you need (bar area, sun room ,library, etc.). Do not hesitate to come and have a wonderful vacation.
Cant wait to go back!
This home was incredibly spacious and perfect for five couples who want to reconnect with each other and then retreat to their comfortable bedrooms. Each bedroom had its own bathroom and most had their own fireplace. It was an incredibly cozy location to share food and wine with friends after a long day of skiing. We cant wait to go back!
Great amenities, spacious rooms, very cozy, great places to engage with everyone in the house as well as places to sit alone quietly. I highly recommend this location and would definitely love to return!
We loved it
We stayed at this beautiful home from January 26 to the 30th. I must say Daniel is a perfect host. He attentive, informative and really cares about his clients. Bedrooms - All bedrooms were queen size beds and one bedroom with a king. They were clean, well appointed and had private bathrooms. The towels were soft and good quality for a rental property as were the linens. The fireplaces were an awesome touch in the bedrooms. Kitchen - The kitchen was great with modern appliances. We cooked almost all meals there and it was very convenient. The house has almost everything you need when it comes to pots, pans, dishes and cleaning supplies. Also, there were a lot of extras like spices as well as fresh milk and eggs left by Daniel. One minor complaint is there is more lighting needed over the stove as it can be a little dark. Common Areas / Bar Area - Great area for a group to hang out. We used the bar area every night to sit by the fireplace and enjoy our evening over cocktails and appetizers. The bar has a full size commercial fridge to keep our drinks cold. Also, the bar has wine glasses, cocktail glasses and other bar accesories. Daniel provides plenty of board games, blankets, etc down in the den. We loved the area but one minor change I would make is another couch across for the leather couch in front of the fireplace to make it more comfortable for a larger group. The sunroom was amazing. Great views and well appointed. Overall, highly recommend this property and Daniel is a great host. We will be back. It's clear Daniel is improving on the property and will only make this place even more amazing.
This beautiful country home was a perfect place to stay for our family ski getaway. We had 4 couples and 5 kids with us between the ages of 1-4 and there was plenty of space! Industrial kitchen with plenty of cookware, basement bar to enjoy a beverage, a bathroom with every bedroom, and close to bromley ski mountain and Manchester town! We enjoyed the hot tub after hitting the slopes and made snowmen and pulled sleds on the large property. Also right near JJHapgoods country store where Baby Boom was filmed! thanks to Daniel for being so responsive and allowing our family to enjoy a week in Vermont! I highly recommend!
Great for us
This house was great for our purposes. The layout is a bit funky, but once you grasp the lay of the house, it makes sense. Unfortunately we weren't able to explore the premises, but it looked like there would be some beautiful hikes. Would recommend.
This house is awesome! It's huge and like a maze. Bedrooms were gorgeous, large with private bathrooms. Check in and check out was simply and easy. Would love to stay again while skiing Stratton!
House is bigger than I thought! Gorgeous a lot of room for everyone. Close to the town and peaceful
Lovely place, highly recommended.
Would be honored to stay again
Was a beautiful well Kept home, the pictures don’t do it justice. Would be honored to stay again
This was a great place to spend a weekend with friends - it’s a huge amount of space with a lot of different rooms for hanging out, including a living room with huge windows and great light. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Daniel!
The Bluedoor form was amazing.
The Bluedoor form was amazing. I couldn't of been happier with my stay. I was there as the leaves were turning and the setting could not of been more beautiful The property is expansive and seems to go on forever off multiple hiking and cross country skiing trails into the surrounding hills The Decour was charming and very comfortable I felt at home the minute I got there. My room had a fireplace and a jet tub. There are many large common areas where if I wanted some alone time I could wander off and relax or just read a book or look out at the amazing view Daniel was so easy going and accommodating I can't imagine having a better host.
Clean huge beautiful!
I labored over the internet to find a nice place for a family reunion at a competitive rate. It almost doesn't seem worth it bc it's so much work. But, I'm really pleased to say this property exceeded my expectations and makes me believer in owners who aren't trying to just make a buck. The rental was perfectly clean - huge - beauitul, and located right between towns.Renting from Dan was a pleasant experience from the first time I called him to inquire about the place. I had such a nice stay, I will definitely be back and renting from him! Highly recommend this owner/property.
Warm & Cozy at a great price!
Thanksgiving week I brought my family up to Vermont to ski and visit family. I chose this inn because of its close location to three great ski slopes, it proximity to Manchester, Vt. with it's outlet shopping. And it's reasonable rental rate! From the moment we walked in and found our rooms I knew I made the right decision. The inn is roomy but quaint. Each room had a fireplace, full bath and a queen size bed. The decor is historic, romantic or hokey but that adds atmosphere. I recommend this inn for the quintessential Vermont experience at a rare that will not break the bank. My wife adds that the shopping is killer!
Blue Door Farm is a hidden gem
Great space, clean and cozy. Ideal for 2-3 family ski getaways. Closest you can get to Bromley without actually being on the mountain and the village of Peru is pure VT. Both kids adults and adults had a blast. We would book again for the summer to explore the amazing trails out their back Door. Added bonus is that the house (with their own ski shop) is in the VT alpine hall of fame!
